Native American Camp—June 18-22: Learn about the first inhabitants of Southwest Ohio. Kids will learn about the pre-historic peoples commonly referred to as “mound builders” and visit an on-site mound. Campers will be introduced to the day-to-day life of historic tribes such as the Shawnee, Delaware, Wyandot, Miami, and Seneca. Throughout the week, kids will make food eaten by local tribes, participate in traditional Native American games, and create Native American crafts, tools, and art.

Archaeology Camp—July 9-13: Do you have a burgeoning Indiana Jones? This camp should satisfy them. Campers will learn the basics of archaeology through hands-on “doing.” Kids will do digs throughout the week here at the Village. Our park location is at the bottom of an old Ordovician Sea, and fossils abound. Campers will learn about pre-historic and historic artifacts, terminology and application, and interpretation. This camp will be offered in two different age brackets: ages 5 to 9 and ages 10 to 13.

Pioneer Camp—July 30-August 3: Learn what life was like for kids in 1800s Southwest Ohio. Campers visit our thirteen historical buildings to discover different aspects of pioneer life such as cooking, chores, games, medicine, and transportation.

Activities include:
• Hearth cooking
• Making butter
• Making cornhusk dolls
• Playing with pioneer toys
• Washing clothes on a washboard

Tucked away in lovely Sharon Woods Park, Heritage Village is a unique setting for this exciting hands-on experience for the “19th century” student.
